Pallas is the epithet of Athena, Ancient Greek Goddess associated with cunning, crafts, and invention. As an interdisciplinary online publication focusing on the Ancient Mediterranean world, Pallas takes the name as a beacon for those who bring new ideas and modes of thinking by challenging the status quo and offering alternatives to traditional scholarship. Pallas is affiliated the Future of the Past Lab at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. We seek to reimagine or reconsider dominant perspectives and how alternative ways of approaching the Ancient world may improve and strengthen current scholarship. This journal provides an accessible avenue for undergraduates to publish their original work, encouraging the creation and dissemination of new ideas for the future of classics.
