The Future of the Past Lab is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a grant by the Institute for Diversity, Equity, and Advocacy at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities to fund a new program entitled, Making Mythology: Constructing Community in the Classroom. This program aims to connect the study and teaching of ancient Mythology with the burgeoning modern literary genre that retells ancient stories in new ways. To do so, Making Mythology will bring a prominent “Myth Lit” author to campus for a collection of lectures and conversations about their work, the ways in which modern retellings address pressing concerns in the study of myth, and the future of ancient mythology.
